First Financial Bank, Local Leaders Gather to Celebrate the Success of the Price Hill Financial Opportunity Center
September 24, 2012
First Financial Bank CEO Claude Davis along with dozens of First Financial associates, Price Hill Financial Opportunity Center staff, local leaders and residents gathered on Friday, September 21, 2012, to celebrate the success of the Price Hill Financial Opportunity Center.
In 2010, First Financial Bank provided a substantial grant to Santa Maria Community Services to purchase the building that is now home to the Price Hill Financial Opportunity Center. Since then, First Financial and key community partners, including Santa Maria, the United Way, LISC, Cincinnati Works, Price Hill Will, FRCH, K4, Triangle Sign and Viox, have come together to help transform the building into an engaging hub that empowers people to take control of their financial future. This includes interior improvement, exterior design and landscaping, and financial resources for programs.
Since the Center opened its doors earlier this year, staff and volunteers have provided financial literacy classes, employment services, one-on-one coaching and public benefits support to help low-income families achieve financial stability.
Friday's event celebrated the completion of construction at the Center and client success stories.
Services and programs at the Price Hill Opportunity Center are open to everyone and are especially targeted to residents of Greater Price Hill. This year, the Center:
* Recruited more than 50 new families to the program.
* Provided financial review and assessment for nearly 100 residents
* Helped 16 people obtain employment
* Assisted nearly 50 people with public benefit applications
