Overdraft protection for card-based transactions can help keep you covered

Check cards and ATM cards provide easy access to your funds to make withdrawals, purchases and payments. Recent changes by Federal lawmakers now give you the option to decide whether or not you want to continue Overdraft Privilege coverage for these card-based transactions:

  • ATM Withdrawals
  • Everyday check card transactions

NOTE: This does not apply to overdraft privilege services associated with
written checks or recurring check card transactions such as regularly
scheduled bills, ACH transactions, or payments made online with bill pay.

If you would like to receive overdraft protection, please complete
the online opt-in form or fill in the form available at your nearest
First Financial Banking Center.

Why Opt-In?

First Financial’s overdraft privilege is designed with your protection
and convenience in mind. Without overdraft privilege or one of our
other overdraft options, your ATM and everyday check card
transactions will be declined if you attempt to make a transaction
without sufficient funds.

What You Need to Know about Overdrafts and Overdraft Fees.

An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your
account to cover a transaction. Although we offer other plans**
to our clients, the purpose of this notice is to inform you about our
standard overdraft practice.

If you are enrolled in Overdraft Privilege, we authorize and pay up to
$500 in overdrafts for the following types of transactions:

• Checks and other transaction items made using your checking account number
• Automatic bill payments

It’s a Discretionary Policy

Overdrafts are paid at the discretion of First Financial Bank. Not all transactions will be authorized or guaranteed. If a transaction is not authorized for overdraft protection, the transaction will be declined.
