First Financial Bancorp has started construction on a new branch in Lawrenceburg, Ind.
Cincinnati-based First Financial plans to open the 4,000-square-foot banking center on Eads Parkway in August. That location will replace First Financial’s existing Lawrenceburg banking office on Walnut Street downtown, near the river. The Eads Parkway location on U.S. 50 is in a higher-traffic area.
First Financial is using its new prototype design for the new banking center. That includes “visual merchandising” and retail graphics that aim to remind customers of successful moments in their lives. The interior has an open layout. The building also will incorporate energy-efficient features.
“We’re committed to investing in the area to continue building strong, long-term relationships with our clients, local businesses and the community,” Art Hammond, First Financial vice president and regional market manager, said in a news release.
First Financial, the fourth-largest bank in the Dayton region, has $6.3 billion in assets and operates 108 banking centers in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
Cincinnati-based Fifth Third Bancorp ranks as the largest bank in the Dayton market. PNC Financial Services Group Inc. (NYSE:PNC), JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM), First Financial and U.S. Bancorp round out the top five largest banks in the local region.
KeyCorp (NYSE: KEY) and Huntington Bancshares Inc. (Nasdaq: HBAN) are just outside the top five.
