LOUISVILLE --First Financial Bank, a subsidiary of Cincinnati-based First Financial Bancorp, has announced plans to build a banking center in downtown Columbus, Ind.
Following the expected sale of its office complex at Fifth and Washington streets to Cummins Inc., First Financial will build its new facility on land it owns on the corner of Third and Brown streets, according to a news release.
The new banking center will be the first in Columbus to use First Financial's new design, in which the open and accessible interior includes visual merchandising as well as retail graphics.
Until construction is complete in late 2011 or early 2012, drive-thru and lobby service will remain at the current 500 Washington St. location.
First Financial Bancorp has about $6.6 billion in assets, and it operates 113 banking centers in 75 communities in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio.
