First Financial Bank has donated their Portland, Indiana building location at 1511 Meridian Street, to local not-for-profit corporation, Community & Family Services, Inc.
As a community focused bank that is significantly involved in the markets they serve, First Financial is excited to contribute the building location to the organization. Community & Family Services, Inc. has provided assistance and advocacy for low-income residents of local counties and provides assistance to help individuals experiencing economic distress to become independent and self-sufficient. Community & Family Services, Inc. offers many programs, such as Head Start, Energy Assistance, WIC, Blight Elimination, Housing Vouchers, Senior Community Service Employment (SCSEP) and more. All of which are programs designed to meet the needs of the neighbors.
“When First Financial Bank and MainSource Bank merged into one company, we had two banking centers located within very close proximity of each other,” said Corey Scarbrough, Market President at First Financial. “We saw this as an opportunity to do something truly meaningful with one of the locations for a very significant organization within the Portland, Indiana community we serve. We have tremendous local employees who truly care about helping others through volunteering, financial education and charity work and we have all been looking forward to helping out in such a great way.”
First Financial Bank completed the donation to Community & Family Services, Inc. with the presentation of the keys to the building on Thursday, August 30, 2018. Numerous Chamber members, Community & Family Services Board Members, local media, First Financial team members, and many surrounding businesses joined in the celebration.
