Gary, Ind. – May 12, 2016 – First Financial Bank is excited to announce that it will open its first banking center in Gary late this summer. First Financial leaders and Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson will officially make the announcement Friday morning at First Financial’s Crown Point location at 11890 S. Broadway.
“First Financial Bank’s expansion into Gary is an investment in our community,” said Michael Schneider, First Financial Market President. “At First Financial, we see it as our responsibility to enhance economic opportunities and build partnerships in the communities we serve. I’m excited to bring our client-centered, value-added approach to banking to the city.”
The new banking center will be located in the Ultra Foods store at 6010 W. Ridge Road. It will be First Financial’s eighth banking center located in Lake County and will add to its more than 100 locations in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. The company, which was founded in 1863 in Hamilton, Ohio, has been a part of the Northwest Indiana community since the Bank of Highland opened its doors in 1969.
“We welcome First Financial Bank to the city of Gary and commend Ultra Foods for its continued commitment to the Gary community,” Freeman-Wilson said. “While First Financial has operated in the Northwest Indiana region for decades, we thank them for looking at Gary to expand its banking operations. We wish First Financial much success and we look forward to a long lasting opportunity for Gary residents to bank conveniently, while shopping at the Gary Ultra Foods.”
As the opening of the location nears, First Financial will release plans of a ribbon-cutting as well as information regarding a campaign to give back to the community that will coincide with the banking center’s opening.
