Here at First Financial, we've reviewed our online websites, including online banking, for any vulnerabilities associated with Heartbleed. First Financial's online and mobile banking systems are not vulnerable to the Heartbleed bug. However, we are continuing to monitor all of our online systems and take the appropriate steps to safeguard our clients' personal and financial information.
We have experienced no issues or breaches as a result of the Heartbleed bug. As always, we encourage our clients to monitor their accounts for any suspicious activity and contact the bank should they detect any suspicious transactions. We also recommend that clients not use the same password on multiple websites, especially related to online banking. The password you use for online banking should be unique and should not be used anywhere else.
If you need additional information about Heartbleed, please see the frequently asked questions on the American Bankers Association website. (link: http://www.aba.com/Press/Documents/HeartbleedFAQ.pdf)
